Shopify Link

Sell in your shop and sell online, from one integrated solution. The Tower Systems Shopify Link connects your Retailer POS software to your Shopify store, so stock, prices, images and sales stay in step without double handling.

Shopify is one of the easiest ways to launch and run an online store. You control the look and feel, you pick from a wide range of themes, and you build real e-commerce experience. Our link keeps Retailer as the master database behind it all.

Now, before we get into it, we also offer an integration with Big Commerce, Magento and Woo Commerce. We happen to like Shopify for ease of sue by retailers.

How the link works

The Shopify Link uses the Tower Web Connect (TWC) platform as the bridge between Retailer and the Shopify API. Data flows two ways. A frequent sync runs every few minutes to reflect the stock changes you make. A full sync runs once a day to make sure your online store is completely up to date.

Stock

Retailer is your master stock database. You flag the items you want to appear online. Titles and descriptions come straight from your Retailer descriptions and extended descriptions. Newly flagged products are added automatically. When you edit an item in Retailer, you have field-level control over how the change is handled in Shopify. You also choose how departments and categories sync, from a full mirror of your POS structure through to fully self-managed online categories.

Classifications

Extra product detail can be sent through Classifications, for example carat or clarity for jewellery. This information becomes Shopify metafields, so you can use it as a product filter or show it as added detail on the product page.

Prices and quantity on hand

You manage online pricing from the Retailer stock screen, and you can make bulk changes in Stock Manager. Once new prices are set, your online store updates automatically. Quantity on hand is managed for you too. As you sell or arrive stock, the change is sent to Shopify. When an item reaches zero, it is marked out of stock online.

Images

The images you set against stock items in Retailer upload to your website automatically. You can add as many images per item as you like.

Customers

Customers who buy from your online store are added to your Retailer database. That means you can see what they buy and market to them if you choose.

Sales

Online sales are downloaded periodically and imported into Retailer. Importing a sale reduces your quantity on hand, so stock control stays accurate. You can report online sales against a separate location or merge them with your main sales data. Reporting stays in your hands.
