Retailer AI: what the time savings are actually worth
Retailers using the Retailer AI tools built into Tower Systems POS software report saving between five and ten hours a week. Those are big claims, so this page does two things: puts dollars against the hours, and shows exactly where they come from.
The numbers
At a staff cost of $35 an hour, the weekly saving looks like this:
Hours saved per week Weekly saving Annual saving
| 5 hours | $175 | $9,100 |
| 8 hours | $280 | $14,560 |
| 10 hours | $350 | $18,200 |
Even at the bottom of that range, the saving covers the software cost. And hours are the visible part. The time comes back to the owner or goes to the shop floor, where people sell things.
Where the hours come from
Supplier invoices are the biggest single saving, typically three to five hours a week. The manual version is typing invoices line by line, checking cost prices, creating new stock records and setting retail prices. The Retailer AI version is dragging the supplier's PDF or spreadsheet into the software, which extracts the lines, matches quantities, updates costs and prepares the stock arrival in seconds.
Business insights save another two to three hours. Instead of exporting reports to spreadsheets and hunting for trends late at night, you run any standard report and click AI Insights. The software reads the data and returns plain English: which margins moved, what stock is dead, what deserves attention. One Victorian newsagency found over $10,000 in dead stock within minutes of first running it, cleared the stock and got the floor space back.
Product descriptions save one to two hours for retailers selling online. Retailer AI drafts titles, descriptions and blog posts for new lines, written for your kind of shop, ready for Shopify, WooCommerce or Magento.
Reordering and price comparison round it out. Replenishment orders are generated from what customers actually buy, so fast sellers get reordered before they run out, and market price checks flag supplier rises before they quietly eat your margin.
The savings you cannot timesheet
Retailer AI also watches for what you would rather not find. It flags unusual voids, no-sale drawer opens, price overrides and refund patterns, the early signs of internal theft, and it cross-references stock counts against expected levels to show which categories keep losing stock without explanation. Shrinkage rarely announces itself. This does.
The quieter benefit is decision speed. Most retailers sit on years of POS data they never have time to read. The reports tell you what happened; the AI is there to suggest what to do about it, in sentences rather than spreadsheets.
What retailers say
“Retailer AI saves us 10 hours every week on stock arrivals and inventory admin alone.”
“We cut supplier invoice entry by 8 hours a week. That is a full business day back, every week.”
