POS software built for fabric and haberdashery shops
Tower Systems makes POS software for independent fabric and haberdashery shops in Australia and New Zealand. It sells fabric, trims and ribbon by length, including fractions, loads supplier invoices automatically and offers lay-by, gift cards and loyalty tools. There are no transaction fees and no lock-in contract.
A fabric shop sells by the metre, the half metre and the fraction in between. Its range runs from bolts of cotton to thread, buttons, zips and trims, much of it in dozens of colours. Generic POS software can struggle with that mix. Tower Systems is built for it.
Our Tower Systems fabric and haberdashery software runs the counter, the stock room and the back office in one system.
At the cutting table, staff sell fabric, trims and ribbon by the metre or in fractions, and stock reduces by the exact length sold.
Thread, buttons, zips and notions are tracked by colour, size and style, so you can see what is running low before the shelf is empty. Supplier invoices load automatically through embedded AI, kits and project packs are built from existing stock, and sewing groups get their club price at the till. Lay-by, gift cards, loyalty and special orders are built in.
The software connects to your online shop and to Xero, MYOB or Reckon, and the Insights Dashboard shows what is selling and what is tying up cash.
From the front counter to the back office, this software can help a fabric or haberdashery business sell efficiently, manage stock, spot trends early, make fact-based decisions and maximise profitability.
The Insights Dashboard with the software shows what’s working, what’s not working, what you're missing out on and whether theft may be an issue.
Can I sell fabric by the metre and in fractions?
Yes. Fabric, trims and ribbon can be sold by length, including fractions, so a 1.3 metre cut is charged exactly. Stock reduces by the length sold, which keeps your fabric counts accurate.
How does the software handle thread and notions in many colours?
Stock can be managed by colour, size and style, so you can see which shades of thread or sizes of needle are running low before a customer asks. Product lookup works by barcode, part description or brand, which helps at a busy cutting table.
Can I load supplier invoices without typing them?
Yes. Embedded AI tools read emailed, PDF and electronic supplier invoices and bring cost prices, retail prices, quantities and product codes into the stock file. Staff check the details on screen rather than keying them in. Tower has tested hundreds of different supplier invoices.
Can I make up kits and project packs?
Yes. Several items can be put together to create a new product, such as a quilt kit or a project pack. When the kit sells, each component comes off stock automatically.
How does the software help with sewing groups and regular customers?
Club pricing gives members of local sewing, quilting and craft groups their price automatically at the counter. Special orders and pre-orders secure customer commitment for new ranges. Loyalty tools, gift cards and targeted SMS or email offers based on past purchases encourage the next visit. Lay-by and buy now, pay later make larger purchases easier.
Does it connect to my online shop and accounts?
Yes. Tower Systems connects to Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Magento, keeping stock in step between the shop and the website. Xero connects through Xero Link at no extra cost, and MYOB and Reckon connect through ABCIS.
What AI tools are included?
Every plan includes the Insights Dashboard, which uses AI to explain what is selling, what is not and which lines are tying up cash. Direct integrations with ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude are included on the Advanced and Ultimate plans. They help write product descriptions for your website and compare pricing.
You control your own AI settings, including whether your data is used to train AI.

Club pricing for loyalty, professionals and community groups
Beauty retailers often serve mixed audiences — walk-in customers, VIP members, salons, makeup artists and local groups. Each may deserve a different price.
Club pricing in Tower Systems lets you set a discounted price, or a discount percentage, for a defined group of customers. Members receive their price automatically at the counter, without staff having to remember the rule. You can run several clubs at once, a VIP tier, a professional trade tier, and a community partner tier, each with its own products and rules.
Who supports me?
Help desk support comes from people based in Australia and New Zealand. The help desk is open Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm and Saturday 7.30am to 3pm Melbourne time, with after-hours cover by mobile for urgent calls. A chatbot and knowledge base are available at any time. The Tower chatbot is loved by customers for its depth of knowledge of the software.
