Why our POS software may not be right for your business
We do not want to rent our POS software to a business it does not suit.
We do want business. We just see no point in a sale for the sake of a sale. We are a small, privately owned company, and our principles differ from those of larger businesses with multiple shareholders. Their focus is profit first. Ours is service.
Service, to us, means a product that fits and earns its keep year after year. We get there with software built for the job, personal training and support, and development shaped by what our users tell us.
We rent our software. That is the only way we offer it now. No sale, no lease. You pay to use it, and we keep earning your business by looking after you.
We demonstrate the software personally to retailers in the specialty markets we serve. Part of the reason is to satisfy ourselves that it fits. We are on record telling prospects when we are not the right choice. We do it respectfully, and we explain why.
We have been around a long time and intend to stay that way. Doing right by prospects is part of that. A quick sale, made whether or not it fits, helps no one once the novelty wears off.
So yes, we may tell you our software is not right for your business. Here is when that is likely.
You have a need we do not meet today. Be open and complete about what you need, and we can both judge the fit honestly.
You are too big for us. We are not the right choice for a franchise network, for big business, or for a group with more than twenty shops. We prefer to serve small specialty retailers.
You run a cafe that needs table service. We do not offer table-service hospitality features. That is not our field.
Your shop sits outside our areas of specialisation. Plenty of customers outside our core markets use our software happily. Each one chose it knowing it suited them, without a push from us.
You want a deal we will not agree to. We do not sell on price. To keep delivering quality software and service that improves over time, we need fair compensation. The price we quote is our best price, and we treat every prospect the same.
You want the software changed just for you. We do not build custom versions for individual customers. Our development is planned months ahead. We welcome enhancement requests and chase them up, but we work through them in a way that serves all our users, not one.
It matters to us that the software and the company both fit any business that takes us on. So, our approach to a sale is personal, honest and patient.
A software choice is too important to rush. Please review our software properly. Make sure it serves your needs before you commit. We’d be grateful for that and you, for sure, will benefit from it.
